The name Is Andrew, found this forum by accident, was searching for some tabs for SAHB songs to play on the guitar, reason, going through about my fourth renaisonce with SAHB in as many decades.
Always thought Zal's riff where awesome from the first time I saw SAHB on the Old Grey Whistle Test back in the 70's..Thursday night BBC 2. Even saw the band once in Newcastle and never took my eyes of Mr Harvey all night.
Any way nough of me, any one on here know where there may be some official music tabs etc I'm even up for paying..

Hi all, well Im an aussie and I love SAHB but something has been bugging me for a long time,I believe that Bonn Scott based himself on" The Man" and I have had a few arguments as to whether I could be right or is it just coincedental that they were both Scotts with a lilt that seemed similar, again this is not meant to be disrespectful, merely a curiosity as I grew up with one and not the other.Cheers and Peace and Love to all that reads this Plum

Don't be shy and hang around a bit! when I read Bon Scott's biography was that AC/DC admitted no influences from previous bands except for Little Richard and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (from a forum)
Alex Harvey was Bon Scott's hero. Both were Scottish-born rock'n'roll journeymen who found late success with younger bands. Each set fire to their respective corners of the world stage, then went down in the flames in the cold dawn of the early 1980s. Only the Aussie outfit lived on to become a household name. But AC/DC had one distinct marketing advantage. They hadn't named the band after their singer. www.smh.com.au/news/gig-reviews/the-sensational-alex-harvey-band/2007/05/04/1177788347851.html
Next up we featured The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. A month or so ago, I looked up eclectic 1970s Glasgow musician Alex Harvey after reading that he had been a big influence on Bon. And whoa, when you listen, you can really hear the similarity in their voices: the Scottish inflection, the wicked and raunchy sense of humour… www.bonscottblog.com/2008/05/30/geraldine-spins-some-bawdy-bon/
So he had a record and a reputation to match his attitude, and a voice that tore all others to thread. Early on, and especially in concert, he sounded a lot like Alex Harvey, a fellow Glaswegian and hard-drinking rocker, and that was never a comparison to sniff at.
Right around the same time as AC/DC were breaking through in Australia, Harvey’s Sensational Alex Harvey Band was scoring their first hit singles in the U.K. and making moves towards Australian stardom as well. Local radio programmers thought nothing of spinning from one of Harvey’s hits to one of AC/DC’s aces, knowing that their listeners would only celebrate the synchronicity.www.goldminemag.com/tag/bon-scott
Once in the fold, Anderson became good mates with Scott, spending plenty of quality time leaning on bars and discussing rock 'n' roll. Bon turned Angry on to Scottish rock singer Alex Harvey and encouraged the TATTS' singer to consider himself as a "rock poet." www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=67567
He was a key influence on AC/DC lead singer Bon Scott. www.amiannoying.com/%28S%28t3cm2245tpzje5rvqhciof55%29%29/view.aspx?id=26084&collection=1948
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, too, caused ripples around the world. Nick Cave's first band was a Harvey covers band, and the singer feels that SAHB had an uncommon influence in Australia, possibly on AC/DC, (whose singer Bon Scott, was born in Kirriemuir) news.scotsman.com/100bestscottishalbums/Scotlands-100-best-rock-and.2470411.jp
There are many more references to this on the web, and it leaves no doubt. Of course, I've also heard people saying the opposite - that Scott influenced Alex, but given that Alex had been around since the late fifties and SAHB had three or four albums out before Bon joined AC/DC this is not possible. Alex would not have heard of Bon before that point. Have you heard Alex Harvey and His Soul Band? It came out in 1964. Bon Scott was in The Spektors then, as drummer and occasional lead vocalist. This band would have been completely unknown and would remain so except as an answer to a trivia question ("What was Bon Scott's first band"). Anyway, Alex had already been performing for six or seven years when 1964 rolled around. Alex's album, "Roman Wall Blues" came out in 1969. Listen to "Midnight Moses" or "The Hammer Song" , (these were later recorded with SAHB). Although the band is different, Alex's voice has all the signature characteristics that would later add so much to the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Well, Mr. H, what a comprehensive answer and no doubt at all that Alex was a big influence on Bon. I think you need more than one karma for that. So have another one!!
