We've had a few new members here in the last little while and I've been a bit busy with other stuff (life - you know). So I thought I'd re-introduce myself to the gang here. While most of the year I'm just a humble turnip farmer - of course I've branched out into the Forget-me-not wine market recently - and when called upon I also serve the Queen of Vibrania in my role as The Guardian. I have a longer title but I never remember how it goes! I usually "dress up" in times of turmoil or crisis on the forum. Lately we've had new blood making valuable contributions here and I'm very thankful for that because then I can relax and prepare the new crop for the spring. So welcome everyone who's joined recently and raise a drink to Vibrania! Hmm, I think Ginnie's official title goes something like this....
Sir Gin Ginnie McGinster Honourary Scot of Topsail Colony and Defender of Killbear Kingdom Guardian of all the Realm of Vibrania
- luckily he answers to the name of Paul or Ginnie - that's
Ginnie with a G not Ginnie with a J, goes G not J it's Ginnie

Guys, sorry it's taken me until now to respond. Eyes have been firmly grabbed away from here with the sudden death of my mother. Priorities have been totally devoted to that over the last frew weeks. I have to return to UK shortly to sort a lot of things out, so my enforced absence from here will continue.
I hope that I can become a regular on here. I don't spread myself thinly on Boards, so I should be able to join in with the chat fairly soon. I'll wait a bit longer before posting, just so#s I can see what sort of stuff goes on.
Cheers, and thanks for the most excellent welcome.

You're welcome back here anytime, take it steady, fella

I just received this email........not very sure how or why, as I'm not an active, receiving emails member of Yahoo, which is, I assume, from whence this came. If Zed or Suze is reading, could you please mention that he is more than welcome here too - a friend for our Children of Them Colonies, especially our Sir Gin Ginnie Mc Ginster, a fellow Canadian. NOW HEAR THIS... Proving there is life left in this list, and Facebook hasn't taken over life as we know it, I just subbed another new member to the group. Someone called, Gerry Kincade. Here's what they have to say... Hi, Just want to be a part of the SAHB fan base. Been a fan since '73 and still can't get enough! Thanks for keeping SAHB alive. A huge Canadian fan!! So there you go. Be nice to him. Gerry, we sometimes stray off topic for an extended period and discuss all kinds of crap, but we're always happy to come back to the subject that bought us all together... ...the one and only, SAHB. Have fun. HughJ

Hi guys and gals(?), my name is Dog and I've been a SAHB fan for donkeys years, but sadly never seen them perform live. I was checking out all SAHB's tracks on the net to download and came across Buff's Bar Blues, which I've never heard before. A great track. Question. Does Buff's Bar exist? If so, where is it?

Hi All!
Surely, I can't be the first, but you have an American among you. I was fortunate to have grown up in the one regional area of the United States where SAHB enjoyed sell out shows and big popularity...Cleveland, Ohio. I was only 10 in '77 when my sister saw the guys at the Cleveand Agora and later brought home the Album "British Tour '76". I was hooked immediately. To this day, my sister has no idea how often I would sneak into her room when she was gone to listen to that album and for a few years I could hear some songs on the local rock station (WMMS). In that area, we had no idea that SAHB was not as popular in the rest of the country. 10 Years later, I had moved to Atlanta, GA and during the process of replacing my albums with CDs I went looking for some SAHB. I failed and since Al Gore had not yet invented the internet, I could not only not find any music, I couldn't find anyone that had ever even heard of the guys. It seemed so odd that I could find nothing considering how "poplular" I thought they were. Through the '90s I would occassionally go looking, but always to no avail. By the 2000's I had all but forgotten about them.
Then last week I was hanging with some friends, having a "who can remember the most obscure song from the '70s" contest and I thought of "Faith Healer" since it seemed like no one but me had ever even heard of Alex Harvey.. I even said " I doubt if I'll find anything but, lemme see if I can find this one."
I'm sure you guys can relate to the excitement I felt discovering all the videos on youtube. I have spent the last week listening to absolutely nothing but Alex and the guys. I have also ordered a couple albums from Amazon.com.
This seems be the one and only place I can say this where people will understand:
THANK YOU SAHB for great memories, great music and being the obvious inspiration for so many acts to come later!!!!
And thank you to the Admins of this site for setting it up and finally confirming that I am not completely crazy. VAMBO ROOLS!!!!!

moparmarcus, welcome to the Forum. Great first post. Cool story, I can dig it. As an American stationed at an RAF base I was fortunate to see The Sensational Alex Harvey Band at the first Knebworth festival in 1974 and have been a life long fan since that musical miracle lol. Enjoy yourself here, there are many great SAHBsters around these parts.

New member here from Austin, Texas. Never heard of Alex until introduced through George Starostin's website (best review web site in existence). Love Alex and I'm very jealous of everyone here who got to see him live. The Tale of the Giant Stone Eater is probably my favorite song and I adore all of his original material albums to death.

Hi! I'm Pekka and I've been an Alex fan since 1990 IIRC. My friend had bought "The Collection" and the first track "The Tale Of The Giant Stoneater" got me hooked. I didn't buy "The Collection" but just about anything else I could.

Hello everyone Im from Hobart Tasmania Australia I remember when I had the LP ""Next" and thought it was fantastic. SAHB were going to be touring Australia in the early 1980's before tragedy struck and Alex died.
